Recognize the Symptoms of Salmonella Poisoning Bacteria
Cases of salmonella poisoning
becoming increasingly common.
Bacteria that live in meat, eggs,
and raw food makes many people
rushed to the hospital.
According to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), the last few months a new
warning about a salmonella
outbreak continues to be given.
Food poisoning due to salmonella
contamination has made 19,000
people rushed to the hospital each
year.
Salmonella is a bacteria that lives
alone in raw food such as meat,
eggs, and fresh vegetables.
These bacteria can affect the
intestinal tract and can cause
serious problems, such as severe
dehydration. The only way to
diagnose salmonella poisoning is
through a blood test or stool.
However, contamination

- Diarrhea more than 3 days.
- Abdominal pain.
- Fever.
- Nausea and vomiting.
Symptoms usually last for four to

Infants and adults over 65 years of

systems are more likely to develop
more serious illness with more

antibiotics, but still appropriate
prescription.
To avoid becoming infected with
salmonella bacteria, there are
some precautions that can be
done, namely:
- Make sure to thoroughly wash
their hands with antiseptic after:
Use the bathroom, changing
diapers, handling raw meat or
poultry, clean up pet droppings,
touching reptiles or birds.
- Keep meat, poultry and raw
seafood separate from other food
ingredients.
- Use separate cutting boards for
meat and vegetables.
- Keep cooked food from raw
materials contaminated surfaces.
- Avoid eating raw eggs. - Clean
Wash fresh vegetables that will be
used as a salad.
