If the needle or blood make you
feel dizzy and shaky? If so, there
may be a desire to eliminate this
fear.
Because, dare with a syringe to
deliver benefits to you. For
example, drugs given by the
doctor, works faster when
administered via the blood vessels
and many important medical
procedure that must be done by
using a syringe and some involve
blood.
See explanation from Dr. Roshini
Rajapaksa, gastroentrologis of
NYU Langone Medical Center about
how to get you to the next doctor's
visit, no longer frightening.
According to Rajapaksa, the fear
that you are experiencing is called
vasovagal response, a reflex that
occurs when your body overreacts
to certain triggers,
for example blood or needles.
Triggers that stimulate nerves
which then causes your heart rate
slows down and your blood
pressure decreases. As a result,
You may suddenly feel feverish or
dizzy, pale, or even loss of
consciousness. To cope with a
headache when your blood sample
should be taken by physicians,
practice techniques tension relief
following: Flex the muscles of your
body for 10 to 15 seconds, then
release for 20 to 30 seconds.
This will help to increase blood
pressure and prevent curiosity
fainting. Ask the doctor so that you
may lie down and hover your gaze
to the other direction other than
your hands. Thus, your attention
will be diverted from the syringe
and the blood flowing.
The medical world has not fully
understand why some people have
a vasovagal response and the
other does not.
The doctors believe, vasovagal
response is usually harmless and
do not require special treatment,
especially if it does not reduce the
quality of your life.
However, if a vasovagal reaction
appears constantly and so bad
until you miss the schedule of
vaccines, and other medical
procedures is important, you
should consult a psychologist.
They can help you overcome the
fear by using exposure therapy or
exposure therapy measured (where
you practice being in front of the
needle until you are no longer so
sensitive to the syringe).
