60 Percent of Heart Disease Triggered Smoking Habit

Heart disease is currently included in the list of 10 diseases that cause death. Smoking is one of the main factors that trigger the disease.

According to the Director of the Heart Hospital Harapan Kita, Dr.
dr. Hananto Andriantoro SpJP (K),
MARS, FICA, smoking is a bad habit that is harmful to heart health.

"Smoking is very, very nasty. From 7000 cases of acute heart attack that went into the Heart Hospital Harapan Kita, 64 percent for smoking, hypertension
underneath," said Hananto on the
sidelines of the celebration of 35 Years of Indonesian Heart Foundation in Jakarta, Wednesday (24 / 11/2016).

Harmful content in cigarettes damage blood vessels in the heart. Hananto explains, carbon monoxide (CO) from cigarette smoke into the lungs will also
circulate in the blood and eventually damage the walls of blood vessels. Damage to the blood vessels in the heart will cause heart disease.

Hananto explained, not all people feel the complaint when a blood vessel in the heart is damaged. Often the patient feel himself healthy, but when checked the
blood vessels are damaged. Precisely if it appears complaint, meaning blood vessel damage is getting worse.

"For the time baseball can be determined when a heart attack. There are age 33 already had a heart attack and mounted ring," said Hananto.

Although someone exercising and running a healthy diet, smoking remains the risk of causing heart disease.

According Hananto, smoking has
its own way to damage the body.
Therefore, quitting is the right step
in maintaining heart health. Not
only heart health for themselves,
but also the people around that
exposure to cigarette smoke.

"We have a healthy life, the
environment should also be
healthy. If the environment smoke
all, could be affected," said
Hananto. Additionally, prevent
heart disease with a healthy diet,
exercise regularly, and maintain
blood pressure. Prevention should
be done early, before he felt the
symptoms of the disease.
